Next in our Meet the Team series is Kelly Walsh!

Kelly Walsh, Associate Director, Hospital and Community Programs, joined Gilda’s Club Chicago in 2022 and is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a Masters degree in Marital and Family Therapy from Northwestern University and has more than 20 years of experience working in community and in hospital settings. Prior to her work with GCC, Kelly was an Integrative Therapy Coordinator at OSF Little Company of Mary Medical Center where she oversaw the development and execution of the full scope of support programs provided at the hospital’s Outpatient Cancer Center.
What’s your go-to coffee order (or favorite drink to start the day)?
This summer my go to has been a cold brew with easy cream easy sugar.
What’s your most memorable travel experience or dream destination?
This is easy! My recent trip to Ireland where I got to visit places my ancestors lived and got engaged!
What’s your favorite way to unwind after a long day?
Sit on my front porch and read.
If you could pick up a new skill or hobby instantly, what would it be?
I wish I could sing. I think it would be so fun to sing karaoke and actually sound good!
What’s the best concert or live event you’ve ever attended?
Hands down. H.O.R.D.E. Fest 1996. I got to see Blues Traveler, Lenny Kravitz, Rusted Root, and Natalie Merchant. Such a great lineup!
Are you a life-long Chicagoan or are you a transplant?
I was born and raised on the South side of Chicago. I am die hard Bears and White Sox fan!
