Next in our Meet the Team series is Debbie Slowinski!

Debbie, Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator, holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Psychology from Saint Xavier University. She joined Gilda’s Club Chicago in 2018 with 24 years of professional experience working with underserved adults with special needs in Chicago in the areas of case management and advocacy, job training, program management, supervision and direct services.
What’s your favorite memory of working at Gilda’s Club?
Getting to meet so many wonderful members throughout the years, and seeing them engage with one another at GCC activities and events. Also doing meet and greets with Anthony Rizzo at Wrigley Field during Kids and Teen Camp during pre-pandemic times.
What’s your favorite way to unwind after a long day?
A long walk in the woods, or going out to dinner with friends.
What’s the best concert or live event you’ve ever attended?
One of my most memorable concerts was dancing in the front row at a Fleetwood Mac concert, and receiving a rose from Stevie Nicks on Valentine’s Day 2015.
What’s one thing on your bucket list you’re determined to check off?
Hike the Grand Canyon
