Weekly Support Groups

Weekly Support groups are the core of our supportive programming. There are groups for those living with cancer, their caregivers/loved ones, and those who are grieving the loff of a loved one to cancer. Weekly support groups require placement after completing a Customized Membership Plan. To learn more about completing a CMP and our weekly support groups, please CLICK HERE. Weekly support groups require an ongoing commitment of participation. Groups are not open for observation.

Bereavement Group

Weekly support group for those who have lost a loved one to cancer.

Family Group

Weekly support group for those supporting a loved one with cancer.

Living with Cancer Groups

Weekly support groups for men and women living with cancer.

Diagnosis Specific Support Groups

Monthly Support Groups are designed for people with similar diagnoses or life situations to make meaningful connections with others and share helpful information regarding the cancer journey. If you are interested in participating in a Support Group, please call 312-464-9900 or complete a Contact Us form on our website, to speak with a staff member.

Breast Cancer

Please join this group for a supportive discussion and education regarding living with breast cancer. Those supporting a loved one with breast cancer are welcome.

Gastrointestinal Cancer

Please join this group for a supportive discussion and education regarding living with gastrointestinal (colorectal, gastric, liver, pancreas, cholangiocarcinoma, gallbladder and other GI related) cancer. Those supporting a loved one with a GI cancer are welcome.

Gynecological Cancer

Please join this group for a supportive discussion and education regarding living with gynecological cancers. This is a time to share information and experiences. Those supporting a loved one with a gynecological cancer are welcome.

Grupo de Apoyo Latino

Reunirse con el grupo de apoyo mensual para Latinos impactados por cancer, incluyendo gente viviendo con cancer, familiares y amigos. En el grupo pueden obtener información, compartir recursos y recibir apoyo emocional.

Lung Cancer

Please join this group for a supportive discussion and education regarding living with lung cancer. Those supporting a loved one with lung cancer are welcome.

Metastatic Breast Cancer

Please join this group for a supportive discussion regarding living with metastatic breast cancer. This is a time to meaningfully connect with others and share helpful information. This group is held in partnership with the Young Survival Coalition.

Cancer Survivors

Please join this supportive group for a time to connect and share experiences about life after cancer treatment. 

Prostate Cancer

Please join this group for a supportive discussion regarding living with prostate cancer. Topics discussed may include treatment options, quality of life, incontinence, intimacy concerns, fear of recurrence and more. Those supporting a loved one with prostate cancer are welcome. This group is held in partnership with the UsTOO Prostate Cancer Education & Support Network.

Young Women With Breast Cancer (ages 18-40)

Please join this supportive group for young women living with breast cancer. Each month, the group may share stories, treatment tips, discuss nutrition, body image, relationships and more. This group is held in partnership with the Young Survival Coalition.

Other Groups

All Gilda’s Club Chicago Groups are intended for adults. By registering, I am affirming I am 18 years old or over. Please contact a Program staff member by calling 312-464-9900 with any questions.

Black Women of Ethnicities 

Please join the Black Women of Ethnicities Group for this supportive monthly group. Black Women of Ethnicities Group is of women who collaborate and empower one another while discussing challenges such as facing gender discrimination, bias environments, compounding obstacles of racism and building relationships all through the impact of cancer diagnosis.

Caregiver 

This supportive group is for anyone caring for a loved who is living with cancer. 

LGBTQIA+ 

Please join this supportive group for those who identify as LGBTQIA+ and have been impacted by cancer, including those who are living with cancer, family members and friends.

Living Beyond Loss

This caring and supportive group is for anyone who has experinced death of a loved one due to cancer. 

Mens Group

This men's only group is for those who are living with cancer or have a loved one living with cancer. Topics may include cancer and wellness, sports and movies and anything in between.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursdays is a time for individuals from all walks of life to express meaningful thanks for what you have, people you know, and events that have impacted your life. Everyone is welcome including those living with cancer, family members and friends.
