We are so excited to welcome Kelly Walsh to the Gilda’s Club Chicago team and community.
As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Northwestern, Kelly has been working in the social service/mental health field for the past 22 years; the last 11 years exclusively in Oncology. In her former role as Integrative Therapy Coordinator at OSF-Little Company of Mary Medical Center, Kelly oversaw a comprehensive set of support services offered to cancer patients, cancer survivors, and their families. She was responsible for developing and executing a robust programming curriculum aimed at supporting patient during their cancer treatment and beyond into survivorship.
Kelly believes in a holistic approach that assists patients, survivors, and their families navigate every phase of their cancer care with education and support. Providing a warm healing environment where evidence-based support services are provided, offers patients comfort and a sense of control in their treatment plan. We know that patients who choose to engage in support services feel less stressed, have better symptom management and tend to have better treatment outcomes. The overall goal is to help patients experience the highest possible quality of life both during and after their cancer care.
Outside of work, Kelly enjoys spending time with her two teenage sons, relaxing at the family’s lake house in Michigan, and going on winter ski trips.
We are thrilled to have her as part of our team!
