A lecture series for individuals who are newly diagnosed with cancer.  Attendance at every session is encouraged.

June 13 - Creating a Strong Support Team:  Medical professionals and social supports will be vital during this time.  Join us to learn more about the information and tools needed to ensure your treatment plan is solid.  Presented by:  Christina Zerwer-Gafaar, LCPC

June 20- The Cost of Care:  Insurance and treatment costs become overwhelming.  Find out how to navigate complicated systems and advocate for yourself.  Presented by:  Sandra Manley, LCSW, Jessica Walradt and Dr. Sheetal Kircher, Northwestern Memorial Hospital

June 27 - Treatments and Side Effects:  Information on the various types of treatments available and possible side effects.  Presented by:  Rebecca Ballen, LCSW and Katie Janak, LCSW, Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

July 11 - Nutrition & Exercise:  Learn how to eat healthy and stay active throughout treatment.  Presented by:  Mila Apostolovic, Wellbeing and Exercise Coach

July 18 - The Benefits of Psychosocial Support:  A cancer diagnosis can increase feelings of stress.  This talk will provide coping strategies and information to decrease these feelings of stress.  Presented by:  Rebecca Ballen, LCSW and Sandra Manley, LCSW, Northwestern Memorial Hospital
